Cry for the People
written @ 4:03 pm on Tuesday, Apr. 26, 2005
The images on the screen showing visions of death
People gasping for air, taking one last breath
All of our emotions are locked up inside
So I’ll cry for the people
A mother receives a visit from a darkly dressed man
Who tells her she’ll never feel her son’s rough hands
She’s too shocked to speak and too sad to weep
So I’ll cry for her as well
A young man visits the doctor who shares horrible news
His fate is sealed and his life he’ll lose
He can’t stand the pain but can’t draw attention
So I’ll cry for him too
All these events brought into light
Of those who don’t cry with all of their might
They’re told they must get on with their lives
So I’ll cry for the people
